Friday 7 August
9:00–9:50am Registration & mingleCoffee and conversation
10:00–11:30am Session 1: Theological Grounding of MissionMain session

Mission begins in the heart of God. This opening session lifts our eyes to God as a sending God, showing why the gospel must be proclaimed, why the church exists for its advance, and why mission is not merely one church programme but central to God’s purpose for his people.

11:30am–12:10pm Morning teaRefreshments and conversation
12:10–1:40pm Session 2: The Reality of EternityMain session

This session considers mission in the light of heaven, judgment and the patience of God. Because eternity is real and our time is limited, it calls us to a sober urgency shaped not by hype but by the genuine spiritual need—and gospel opportunity—around us in New Zealand.

1:40–2:40pm LunchFood and fellowship
2:40–3:55pm Workshops Block 1: Getting People on MissionChoose one of three streams

Getting yourself on mission

Mission culture begins with Christians who are personally on mission. Explore practical habits such as praying for lost people by name, building genuine relationships with non-Christians, speaking naturally about Jesus and inviting people to take a next step.

Getting youth & kids on mission

The next generation is both a mission field and a mission force. Consider how youth and children’s ministries can reach young people and their families while raising young Christians for whom sharing Jesus is a normal part of life.

Multicultural mission

New Zealand’s neighbourhoods are increasingly multicultural. Learn how to understand the different cultural stories people live by and communicate a gospel that both affirms what is true and challenges every culture with the lordship of Christ.

3:55–4:10pm Short break15-minute pause
4:10–5:25pm Workshops Block 2: Building Mission SystemsChoose one of three streams

Mission heat, fruit, retention: building a church-wide mission culture

Use a practical framework to assess and strengthen your church’s mission culture: building urgency and prayer, creating pathways towards conversion, and developing follow-up and discipleship that helps new believers become established and grow.

Preaching to and expecting non-Christians

Explore preaching that assumes non-Christians may be present each week, proclaims Christ clearly and presses for response. The aim is to help churches become places where members confidently invite friends because they know the gospel will be heard.

Planting missional churches

Discover why new churches often reach people that established churches do not. This workshop considers how church planting serves local evangelism, what planting costs, lessons learned from fruitful plants and why the harvest needs more workers and churches.

5:25–6:10pm Free time & network gatheringsRest, connect and gather
6:10–7:30pm DinnerMeal break
7:30–9:30pm Friday Night Session: The Cost of MissionEvening session

Following Jesus on mission costs something. This evening session confronts us with Christ’s call to take up our cross, invites honest reflection on what our lives are for, and challenges us to consider giving ourselves wholeheartedly—whether vocationally or in everyday life—to the cause of the gospel.

Saturday 8 August
9:00–10:30am Session 3: The Power of the GospelMain session

The gospel itself—not our cleverness, methods or programmes—is God’s power to save. This session builds confidence to proclaim Christ boldly while recognising that conversion is often a process, encouraging patient perseverance and thoughtful pathways that help people move towards repentance and faith.

10:30–11:10am Morning teaRefreshments and conversation
11:10am–12:40pm Session 4: From Theology to PracticeMain session

Theological conviction must shape our vision, ministry principles and everyday practice. This session challenges churches to examine why they may not be seeing fruit, to pursue both faithfulness and fruit without slipping into pragmatism, and to turn belief in mission into clear priorities and practical pathways.

1:00–2:00pm LunchFood and fellowship
2:00–3:00pm Workshops Block 3: Building Pipelines & MovementChoose one of four streams

Personal evangelism training

Build practical confidence in sharing the gospel: opening spiritual conversations, telling your story, explaining the good news clearly and inviting a response. This hands-on workshop turns conviction and confidence into everyday evangelistic competence.

Apprenticeships and raising workers

Learn how churches can deliberately identify, recruit, train and support future gospel workers. The workshop explores why apprenticeships matter, how to structure and supervise them, what training should include and how churches can make them financially possible.

Next steps towards ministry

For those considering more intentional gospel ministry, this workshop outlines practical next steps: conversations to begin, apprenticeships and training to explore, available funding pathways and how to test a possible calling wisely within the local church.

Courses and mission pathways

Explore how evangelistic courses can help people investigate faith and move towards Christ. Learn how to choose and run a course and connect it with thoughtful follow-up, so initial interest can lead towards conversion, discipleship and integration into church life.

3:00–4:00pm Session 5: The Glory of God and the End of MissionFinal session

Mission will not last forever: the day is coming when people from every nation will gather around God’s throne. This final session asks each attendee to identify a concrete next step, then fixes our eyes on the glory of God, the limited time before us and the joy of the final harvest.
