The Multiply Trainee Scholarship exists to help make theological education and ministry formation more financially viable for those preparing for gospel ministry in New Zealand.

Through the Scholarship, Multiply provides support to students who are:

  • enrolled (or enrolling in an approved Bible college programme, and

  • undertaking supervised ministry formation in a local church as part of their training

  • For many potential gospel workers, training is both a joyful calling but also a real financial stretch. Costs add up quickly - fees, books, transport and the day to day cost of living. The Scholarship exists to help remove some of that burden so students can focus on becoming:

    • grounded in Scripture and theology

    • shaped in character

    • equipped in ministry skills

    • formed in the life of a local church

    You’re exploring or preparing for gospel ministry and need support to make training possible

    Churches

    You want to help raise and form future gospel workers through real, supervised ministry training.

    You want to invest in long-term gospel work; helping to resource workers who will serve in churches, ministries, and mission in years to come.

How it works

1). Students apply

2). A local church authorises and supervises

3). Scholarships are awarded

4). Training continues with review

Students submit an application including their training pathway, budget and proposed local church practicum.

The student’s local church confirms they will provide meaningful supervision and a training environment (not employment)

Approved students receive scholarship support toward eligible study and training costs, with clear reporting and accountability built in.

Scholarships are reviewed regularly (typically mid-year and annually) to ensure training is on track and support is well used.

  • No, The Phoebe Project is designed to support training (study + supervised ministry formation). It is not a salary and the practicum is not intended to create an employment relationship.

  • Typically: tuition/fees, course costs, required books, and agreed training-related expenses. Support toward living costs may be included depending on the student’s budget, pathway and overall funding plan.

  • Applications are reviewed based on eligibility, training plan quality, supervision arrangements, budget need and available funds.

  • Students and churches provide regular progress updates. Scholarships are reviewed at set points and support may be adjusted if circumstances change.

  • Our adaptable methodology serves manufacturing, retail, professional services, and public sector entities.
